Coping with stress in graduate school: Resources at the UMB Student Counseling CenterWhat is PROMISE? PROMISE: Maryland’s Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) is an alliance of University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), UM College Park (UMCP), and UM Baltimore (UMB). Funded by the National Science Foundation, the broad goal of PROMISE is to significantly increase the number of students receiving PhDs in the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields with special emphasis on broadening participation of underrepresented minority groups. PROMISE provides graduate students with community building activities, professional development training and success seminars, preparation for the professoriate, and peer mentoring. The services and programs of PROMISE are open to all graduate students. For more information, contact: Judith K Pollack, PhD, PROMISE Coordinator. tel 410-706-0657, fax 410-706-0094, MSTF 300 email jpollack@som.umaryland.edu, Web http://medschool.umaryland.edu/OSR/promise.aspEmilia Kessler Petrillo LCSW-C Director
