National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity
In partnership with the Faculty Senate, the Diversity Advisory Council, the Office of the Interim Provost, and the deans, the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) maintains an active institutional membership with the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD).
NCFDD is an independent faculty development center dedicated to supporting academics in making successful transitions throughout their careers. NCFDD is a nationally recognized organization that provides online career development and mentoring resources for faculty, postdocs, and graduate students. It delivers a variety of web-based services, including webinars, workshops, and discussion forums that cover topics focused on increasing productivity, improving time management, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance, among other professional development options.

President’s Student Leadership Institute
The President’s Student Leadership Institute (PSLI) is a co-curricular certificate program designed to expose students to contemporary issues in leadership and professional development in order to prepare participants for professional leadership in a diverse workplace. PSLI is an interprofessional program that creates opportunities for students in different fields to interact and learn from one another.

President’s Symposium and White Paper Project
The President’s Symposium and White Paper Project is an interprofessional initiative that engages faculty, staff, and students from all of the University of Maryland, Baltimore's (UMB) schools and academic programs in a yearlong conversation on a topic that is of interest and importance to the University and its community.
