Diversity

The Graduate Program in Life Sciences (GPILS) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is committed to a diverse student population and campus culture.  GPILS recognizes the importance of recruiting, educating and training a diverse population of young scientists.

We encourage students from diverse backgrounds to apply to our eight graduate programs in biomedical and population sciences.  We are committed to acknowledging the needs of diverse students and maintaining a supportive environment that encourages and nurtures the intellectual and professional endeavors of our students as they pursue their goals.
