Program of Study

The University of Maryland System-Wide Program in Toxicology is a unique interdisciplinary graduate program based at the University of Maryland, Baltimore campus that provides training in molecular and mechanistic toxicology and the translation of basic research findings to health protection through the advancement of clinical and environmental health programs.Toxicology program faculty on multiple University of Maryland campuses bring diverse areas of expertise to research questions that address the human and ecological impacts of natural and industrial chemicals and pharmaceutical use in our society.

The Graduate Program in Toxicology offers a flexible program of study tailored to the student’s area of interest and future professional goals. Our Program’s course curriculum is designed to provide essential core knowledge in the basic principles of toxicology, pathology, pharmacology, genomics, and biostatistics, together with elective courses that offer students the opportunity to specialize in one of many areas of basic and applied toxicology.
