Internships and Grant Workshops
The Graduate Program in Life Sciences and Office of Postdoctoral Scholars recognizes the importance of a variety of training opportunities for our graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. To that end, we strive to provide opportunities to our trainees to enhance their experience with us.
Currently, we are offering:
The Graduate Program in Life Sciences (GPILS) and the Office of Postdoctoral Scholars (OPS) have partnered with the Office of Public Affairs (OPA) in the Medical School and are excited to announce an internship opportunity in Science Communications for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows.
The internship includes a required seminar series occurring this summer covering a variety of areas in Science Communications, which culminates with an internship experience for 6 weeks beginning in the fall semester. The internship requirements include 3 hours per week of independent work covering an assigned "beat" to gather stories and other content that may be used for the School of Medicine Website, press releases and future issues of the SOMnews.
Interested in gaining mentored teaching experience at a local college or university? The University of Maryland has partnered with Johns Hopkins to expand the Teaching Fellow Program - teaching sites now include Notre Dame University of Maryland, Goucher College, Stevenson University and Morgan State University.
As more opportunities become available, we will send out announcements and post them to this site.
