There are many existing tools that can help a person identify personal interaction styles and transferrable skills.  A large part of the career development process is having a clear understanding of personal preferences, strengths, areas of improvement, unique skills, and ways of interacting.

Students can participate in a variety of self‑assessment opportunities designed to help them better understand their career interests, strengths, and professional skill sets—including areas such as communication, conflict management, and leadership. These assessments are offered through both interactive workshops and one‑on‑one career development meetings.

A valuable starting point for exploring career paths and personal values is myIDP, a free online tool developed by Science Careers that guides students through structured reflection and goal‑setting.

Self‑assessment activities are available as standalone workshops and are also integrated into our Leadership Series and Mentorship Series, allowing students to deepen their self‑awareness as they build essential professional competencies.
