Neur-Omics is the study of a body of information within tissues and cells of the nervous system and involves technologies for analysis of the brain at the level of the genome, proteome, transcriptome, and epigenome. These discovery based approaches involve high throughput assays resulting in billions of inividual bits of data, referred to as "big data", which come with exciting yet challenging considerations for bioinformatics data mining and analysis.

Researchers here at the University of Maryland School of Medicine are excited to be involved in this revolutionary field of neuroscience and aim to provide a more integrative understanding of nervous system function.
