Center for the Integration of Research Teaching and Learning (CIRTL@UMB) UMB is a proud member of CIRTL, and students have the ability to earn nationally recognized certificates in evidence based teaching strategies as well as having access to national talks and workshops hosted through the CIRTL network. For more information, contact Dr. Jennifer Aumiller, Administrative Lead for CIRTL@UMB

JHU/UMB Collaborative Teaching Fellows

Teaching opportunities provided by Baltimore Underground Science Space, Coppin State University, Goucher College, Loyola University Maryland, Stevenson University, Morgan State University, and Notre Dame of Maryland University (Spring only/Mentored Training Cohort).

Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins enjoy superb research training but have limited opportunities to teach. Academic institutions value real classroom teaching over experience as a Teaching Assistant. The Collaborative Teaching Fellows program gives trainees a hands-on teaching experience with mentorship and coaching from exemplary undergraduate teaching faculty at local institutions. This experience prepares you for teaching responsibilities at academic faculty positions.

Additional Skill‑Building Workshops

Students also have access to sessions on CV and résumé development, negotiation, interviewing, personal branding, and many other career‑readiness topics.
